November is full of football, fall festivities, Thanksgiving, and best of all Friendsgiving. Where all of your best pals come together and show off their cooking skills or maybe not so great skills. Either way, having the best Friendsgiving starts with the venue. The venue being one of Philadelphia Square’s off campus apartments.

Chef’s Kitchen

Having a big kitchen is crucial for prepping and cooking a classic butterball turkey. Our 280 S 7th St. apartments are equipped with large and spacious kitchens. There’s ample amounts of counter space and when it’s time to dig in, people can pull up a seat at the island. After everyone wraps up with their meals, you can host the football game in the theatre room. That’s right, all of our tenants, regardless of where they lease, get full access to all of the quality amenities that Philadelphia Squares provides.

Plan Ahead

Make sure all guests attending are aware and able to make it to the date selected from the Friendsgiving. You don’t want to give people a few days notice, the earlier the notice, the better turnout you’ll have. Try making a Facebook page and create an event . This way you can have a headcount without having to dig back through the group message of who said they can make it and can’t.

What To Serve?

Consider who is all going to be in attendance, are there any dietary restrictions, preferences or is everyone set to eat whatever is made. Building a delicious menu starts with knowing the audience. After gathering what preferences your guests have, time to write the shopping list. Don’t forget to get a count on who is bringing what side dish. Although, you can never have enough desserts, maybe let that one slide.

Fun Festivities

Make this a Friendsgiving that everyone remembers. Start the tradition of going around and sharing what you’re grateful for. Maybe it’s for your friends, the food you’re eating, passing your last exam, or maybe it’s that you’re a tenant at Philadelphia Square with an incredible off-campus apartment. Consider a fun game night for everyone to join in while eating their pumpkin pie. The living room is the perfect space for your guests to join together and make some memories.

Get Involved

Hosting a Friendsgiving is a great opportunity to not only host your friends in your spacious off-campus apartment, but you can also have each guest bring a canned item. You can have a mini food drive all while having a blast with your friends. It’s an easy way to spread that thankful feeling to others in Indiana. Consider seeking out if there’s other students on campus who could benefit from the donations and give them a chance to have their own meal with their friends.
